Expert View: Kubernetes will be the de facto standard for IoT and OT at the edge

Adoption of Kubernetes has been remarkable over the past few years. In data centers, as well as for cloud computing, Kubernetes is used when it comes to the orchestration of lightweight application containers. Kubernetes is deployed to handle and schedule diverse IT workloads. The idea of using Kubernetes at the edge, too, is relatively new, but it is a logical next step, given maturing edge usage and the need to manage workloads at the edge in the same agile and automated way as in on-premises data centers or in the cloud.
