PAC launches annual INNOVATION RADAR: PAC INNOVATION RADAR Salesforce-Related Services in Europe 2022: A Market Increasingly Driven by Industry Sector Demands

London, December 1, 2022 – Market research and strategic consulting firm PAC presents its PAC INNOVATION RADAR “Salesforce-related Services in Europe 2022”, which provides IT user companies with guidance in their choice of service provider.

In six segments focusing on Salesforce’s core industry sectors, PAC evaluates and compares the leading Salesforce service providers in the European market today. The reports focus on the largest and most mature service providers in the market including the global IT Services and consulting firms as well as regional specialists. The assessment evaluates their overall Salesforce delivery capabilities – as well as separate assessments for their industry domain capabilities in the communications & media; energy & utilities; financial services; manufacturing; public sector; and retail. The following providers were evaluated: Accenture, Atos, Capgemini, CGI, Deloitte, IBM, Nextview, NTT Data, Reply, Deutsche Telekom, TCS, Tietoevry and Wipro.

Salesforce continues to be one of the fastest-growing platform providers in Europe, and it relies on these partners to accelerate its customers’ time to value and help them harness the vendor’s growing importance at the heart of their business. The company has expanded its range of offerings with the acquisition of Slack, Tableau and MuleSoft, and the launch of new services such as the Net Zero Cloud. But a key part of the role of Salesforce partners is to help join the dots between the platform and the specific needs of the client and the industry in which they operate.

As business become more digital-centric, they need assistance in building platforms and services that support and enhance the critical moving parts of their organization. This study aims to provide enterprise buyers across Europe with the insights they need to shortlist the right partners for their Salesforce investments,”says Nick Mayes, Principal Analyst at PAC and Lead Analyst of this PAC INNOVATION RADAR.

Verticalization is the Key Strategic Imperative

PAC estimates that more than 50% of major Salesforce projects now require the services provider to have industry domain-specific knowledge or experience or in working their vertical market. This is because customers are increasingly using Salesforce’s expanding platform to support critical aspects of their digital-centric operations. Salesforce has responded to this through the expansion of the Salesforce Industries and industry cloud propositions, as well as the launch of an advisory board for its EMEA operation.

The most successful Salesforce services partners in the region are those that are also refocusing their skills, propositions and approaches around their clients’ and prospects’ specific industry needs. Some are building dedicated industry practice areas for their Salesforce teams, others are building industry-specific assets and accelerators, and some are developing their partner ecosystems to add extra layers of industry functionality around the Salesforce platform.

To highlight a couple of examples of enterprises that encapsulate this market dynamic, Reply has emerged as an important partner for Salesforce across multiple industry sectors. In the manufacturing sector, for example, it was named as one of eight global partners with the “Expert” level specifically in automotive as well as a Launch Partner for the Salesforce Automotive Cloud in the EMEA region.

Capgemini is another close Salesforce ally in the automotive sector, and also has deep capabilities in multiple industries. In the retail sector, the company has a strong position in the luxury retail space, and has also developed accelerators for both large supermarkets and food merchants to help them speed their time-to-value with their Salesforce investments.

The Salesforce services practice at Deutsche Telekom has three core industry focus areas; retail; communications and media; and manufacturing. In the latter sector, the company has strong experience in helping organizations leverage Salesforce to support complex CPQ structures and to integrate into other environments such as SAP.

Accenture is the largest Salesforce partner at both a global and European level, and it has also looked to differentiate through the development of its domain-specific propositions. The vendor has developed accelerators and templates for Salesforce customers to support investment banking and insurance claims and distribution processes, and has strong experience in delivering Salesforce’s Industry Cloud proposition in the communications and energy and utilities sectors.
